For International Jazz Day, our school filled with rhythm and soul. Our music teacher, Mr. Sebastian Garzon, a graduate of the New England Conservatory in Jazz Performance, and his band led an educational concert on the history, evolution and cultural roots of jazz, including Panama's own contributions to the genre.

From the first note, students were engaged: clapping along, asking questions and learning about improvisation and musical collaboration. A limited number of families joined too, and their donations supported the TRAIL Fine Arts Department.

It was a reminder of how music can unite, inspire and spark curiosity at every age.

Para el Día Internacional del Jazz, nuestra escuela se llenó de ritmo y alma. Nuestro maestro de música, Mr. Sebastian Garzon, graduado del New England Conservatory en Interpretación de Jazz, y su banda ofrecieron un concierto educativo sobre la historia, la evolución y las raíces culturales del jazz, incluidos los aportes de Panamá al género.

Desde la primera nota, los estudiantes participaron: aplaudieron, hicieron preguntas y aprendieron sobre la improvisación y la colaboración musical. Un grupo limitado de familias también asistió, y sus donaciones apoyaron al Departamento de Bellas Artes de TRAIL.

Fue un recordatorio de cómo la música une, inspira y despierta la curiosidad a cualquier edad.
