Our mission

Why TRAIL exists

TRAIL, a school that embraces diversity, is driven to spark curiosity in every child. Our vision is every student empowered and equipped to pursue their passion, purpose and place in the world.

1

Minds are sharpened

Fundamentals first, then real work that asks students to think, explain and prove what they know.

2

Character is formed

Curiosity and integrity are taught and practiced every day, in class and beyond it.

3

Belonging is real

Every student is known by name, and learning support comes into the classroom when a child needs it.

4

Responsibility is shared

Students, families and teachers each own their part, and student leaders help shape school life.

5

Learning is deeply human

Students build their own thinking with teachers who know them well. That is why we put mastery before AI.

Our story

Built with this community

TRAIL opened in 2020, during the pandemic, with sixteen students. Panamá Pacífico had been left without an English-immersion school, and the community chose our founders' proposal to build one. Today TRAIL runs from age 2 to Grade 12 on one 2.7-hectare campus, is accredited by Cognia for 2025 to 2028 and is a member of PAIS.

What sets TRAIL apart

Six commitments shape every classroom, from our youngest learners to our seniors.

01

The Renaissance Method

Master the fundamentals, connect them across subjects, and prove it every trimester with a signature project for a real audience.

02

Known by name and by evidence

Classes are capped at 20. Teachers follow each child's progress through MAP Growth results and classwork.

03

English first, Spanish throughout

Every subject except language classes is taught in English, with English support at four levels and Spanish from Early Childhood to Grade 12.

04

Inclusion built in

Our Inclusive Learning Center brings support into the classroom first, with small-group and one-on-one help, and a school psychologist on staff.

05

Two diplomas

Every graduate earns a U.S. high school diploma and the Panamanian MEDUCA diploma.

Grades 6 to 12 →
06

Mastery before AI

No generative AI for schoolwork through Grade 10. Students build their own thinking first, and learn about AI rather than with it.
